Every week, we hear in the news about the rising prices of oil in the world market. Along with this is the news about how it will affect our economy most especially the cost of electricity. By having a water heater powered by an alternative energy, you are assured that you will not be greatly affected by the volatile market price of oil. One of these alternative energy sources that could be easily harnessed is solar power.Contrary to those being portrayed in popular media, the technology to make your own solar water heater is already available. There are already many guides written about it. Some could be very technical about how to do it while there are others that were especially written for ordinary people like you and me. The simplest of the guides available in making your water heated by solar panels could be easily accomplished by using an old refrigerator radiator as the heating mechanism, a block of wood to serve as base and a glass pane to allow the sunshine pass through. This may seem to be too simple to do. But what I have just described is the most basic way of building a solar-powered water heater. There are other designs where it would let you store the solar energy so that the water heater will still work during the night or when it is raining.Knowing how to make your own solar water heater could assure you that you could save at least 30% from electric bills, money that you could spend in other important things.Click Here For Simple Heaters Instant Access Now!

a short video showing the small solar water heater i designed a couple of days ago. it consists of 136 feet of 1/2″ black tubing. internal diameter is actually 3/5″ (cost approx .00), 4 connector pieces (to connect the various pieces together and to connect it to the house (cost approx. .00)), and finally the ‘y connector’ so i could have the garden hose hooked up at the same time (cost approx .00). all purchased from home depot. total cost was approx. .00. all i did was coil 100 feet of the hose and attach it to a piece of plywood. after 30 minutes of sun the water temperature is about 130-133 degrees and after 60 to 90 minutes it can reach 150 degrees. the tubing can hold about 2 gallons of water at a time. if you drain and refill several times throughout the day you could easity get 10-15 gallons of hot water a day. of note: they call the tubing 1/2″ but the actual internal diameter of the tubing is 3/5″ (.6 inches). 100 feet of tubing holds 1.47 gallons and 136 feet of tubing holds approx. 2 gallons. home depot sells a 500 foot roll for about .00. that would hold 7.36 gallons of water.
